The last NTC winter camp was held between the 9 and 13 January in Fruška gora.
Fruška gora mountain
Fruška gora, a former island in the Pannonian sea, is an ancient fault block mountain. Stretching from the west to the east, about 80 km long and 15 km wide, with the highest peak, Crveni Čot, being 539 m high, Fruška gora is a dominant orthographic feature of the Pannonian plain. Alluvial planes of Sava and Danube border the Fruška Gora mountain range on the east and north, while on the south and west it meets the loess plateaus of Srem. The Romans called it Alma Mons, meaning "fruitful mountain", and its current name comes from the old Slovenian ethnonym Frug, a synonym for Francs, thus meaning the "Mountain of the Francs". Due to its turbulent geological past, the abundance of fossils in its sediments, being the home to many rare plant and animal species, and having rich cultural and historical heritage, Fruška gora was declared a national park as early as in 1960.
